We are Bill and Shawna
Morency! Bill is a native of Issaquah who enjoys dirt biking,
camping, and coaching/playing sports. Shawna is a former city
slicker from the Magnolia/Ballard area of Seattle who loves animals
and being a Mom. And of course, we both
enjoy our 2nd full-time job, which is hobby farming.
Morency Farm is located on 10 acres
in Maple Valley, WA. We purchased our property in 2003, and have
been working hard ever since on various remodeling and landscaping
projects. We share our lives not only with our pets, but
also with a variety of wildlife. Some of our "wild" neighbors
include deer, elk, raccoons, coyotes, bats, woodpeckers, owls,
squirrels, chipmunks, wild rabbits, and the occasional black bear.
We are grateful for the opportunity to enjoy so many of nature's
critters!
Our Mission:
-
Practice
manure management and farming best practices to preserve and protect
our natural environment;
-
Raise public
awareness of the benefits of llama manure and why it is one of the
best livestock manures for lawn/garden and indoor plant soil
enrichment;
-
Educate our
community about llamas and why they can be such special companions
to humans as recreational packing partners, therapy animals, 4H
animals, and more.
